AC Milan maintained their unbeaten streak in Serie A under Ruben Amorim, but only managed a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo. The visitors extended their club-record unbeaten run against their hosts to four matches, with one win and three draws.
The first quarter of the match saw Sassuolo's efforts limited to a looping Vasilije Adzic header and long-range strikes from Darryl Bakola and Armand Lauriente, which all sailed over the bar. Milan also had a couple of harmless blocked efforts.
The visitors' first notable effort came in the 33rd minute, when a free-kick from out wide was headed narrowly over by Adrien Rabiot. Arijanet Muric, the Sassuolo goalkeeper, came close to claiming the ball but failed to do so.
Two minutes before the break, one of the goalkeepers was finally forced into action, as Goncalo Ramos took on a shot from a tight angle which Muric batted away. Milan then recycled the ball well, and when Ramos met a delivery with his head, the Bosnian reacted well to turn it over his crossbar.
