Barcelona Suffer First Loss of Season Ahead of El Clasico
Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · 14 days ago Barcelona head into an El Clasico match against Real Madrid this weekend, having suffered their first loss of the 2026/27 season.
The team had previously won all nine of their La Liga matches, as well as two European games, before facing Paris Saint-Germain in France.
After the defeat, Barcelona's coach, Flick, acknowledged that his team may not have been fully prepared for the match.
"It was a great game from both teams. PSG showed their strength, and we learned from our mistakes," Flick said.
"We've been doing well in recent weeks, but our recovery from the Sevilla game wasn't ideal. It's not an excuse, but we need to learn from it."
Flick also noted that winning titles in October is not a realistic goal, and that the Champions League is typically won in June.
