Aurelien Tchouameni has spoken out about the controversy surrounding his teammate Federico Valverde at Real Madrid.
Valverde suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment, claiming that he had accidentally hit a table at the time.
Real Madrid launched an investigation into the incident, and both players were fined €500,000 and ordered to apologize to the club and the fans.
Valverde previously denied that the two players had gotten into a physical altercation after a disagreement during training, followed by another argument the next day.
Tchouameni has now clarified the situation, stating that there was no physical fight between them.
"I want to clear things up. There was no fight between us. Yes, it's true that things can get heated in the changing room, but we never had a physical altercation," Tchouameni explained.
"In a changing room, small disagreements can happen, but I never came to blows with Valverde. It's true that there was an unpleasant incident.
"The problem is that when you're at Real Madrid, even small issues can be blown out of proportion and become a media sensation. Something that wasn't a big deal ends up becoming one."
After the incident, new manager Jose Mourinho was aware of the situation and chose to start fresh with both players, as peace was restored.
The exact details of what happened between the two players remain disputed, and fans are still discussing whether the pair are still in dispute.
