Bayern Munich's chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, has expressed his support for Michael Olise's potential to win the Ballon d'Or award in the future.
Olise has had a successful season with the team, earning the title of Bayern's Player of the Season for the second consecutive year. He has made 57 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 28 assists.
Despite his impressive performances, Olise still lags behind Harry Kane in the Ballon d'Or rankings. This suggests that Olise would need to achieve international success and produce even more impressive statistics to be considered for the award.
Dreesen spoke about Olise's chances, praising the France international's abilities and stating that anything is possible for the 24-year-old.
"Michael is undoubtedly a talented footballer. If someone asked me today whether he would win the Ballon d'Or one day, my answer would be that I don't see why not. Of course, he also needs a team that functions well around him. He has that here with us, and he appreciates it.
"We want Michael to continue playing for us for as long as possible. When the time is right, we will discuss his future with him."
Olise's current contract runs until 2029, and Dreesen's comments suggest that Bayern are keen to extend his stay with the club. There is interest from other teams, including Real Madrid, but the club is seeking to keep Olise at Bayern.
Bayern will host Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal second round on Wednesday evening, a game where Olise will hope to showcase his talents and lead the team to more success.
