Liverpool are reportedly considering a loan move for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid, according to recent reports.
The England international has faced a tough time since leaving his boyhood club, struggling for playing time under multiple managers, including Jose Mourinho, who has preferred Federico Valverde and Denzel Dumfries at right back.
Mourinho stated that he did not expect either Trent or Denzel Dumfries to request a transfer, despite their limited minutes on the pitch.
Trent left Liverpool in search of a new challenge, but his time at Real Madrid has been marked by a lack of opportunities, with the 28-year-old starting just four LaLiga games this term.
However, he did receive a rare chance to play against Racing Santander in LaLiga on Sunday, with Mourinho praising his performance, saying, "I involved Trent, who hadn't played matches for a while, because I saw that his technical quality would help us get the ball out."
Mourinho also expressed his satisfaction with Trent's performance, saying, "Despite being away from matches for a period, he delivered an excellent and balanced performance. I'm very happy, and I think the players feel that we're going through a good period."
