Racing's Alvaro Mantilla suffers serious injury vs. Real Madrid

Racing Santander's Alvaro Mantilla suffered a serious injury during their La Liga match against Real Madrid. The defender ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is a significant injury that requires extensive recovery time.

After the game, supporters at the Campos de Sport stadium applauded Mantilla as he received medical attention and was taken off the field. Further examinations confirmed the severity of the injury, and Racing released an official statement on Monday.

The incident has sparked controversy, with some questioning whether Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho's tactics contributed to the injury. However, it is unclear whether Mourinho will publicly address the issue.

Racing is now assessing Mantilla's recovery prospects, and the club will likely provide updates on his condition in the coming days.
