Mourinho calls for adaptability ahead of AEK Athens match

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has challenged Federico Valverde to be adaptable and take on new responsibilities ahead of their Champions League match against AEK Athens.

Mourinho acknowledged that Valverde's defensive absences have limited his options, but he believes the player must be willing to operate outside his preferred position.

Mourinho emphasized the importance of Valverde's role as captain and the added responsibility that comes with it.

“When you're the captain, you have to be different," Mourinho said. "It's a responsibility, and I think that will make him play wherever is necessary for his team and for his teammates."

Mourinho also noted that a captain must be willing to adapt and make sacrifices for the team, and he believes Valverde will rise to the challenge.
