Phil Foden, a midfielder for Manchester City, is optimistic about regaining his form ahead of the team's upcoming Champions League match against RB Leipzig.
Speaking in Leipzig on Tuesday, Foden expressed his confidence in getting back to his top level, which he had been struggling with recently.
He mentioned that he had been focusing on consistency, playing regularly, and being in the right positions to score, as key factors in returning to his best form.
Foden has been involved in several goals in his recent performances, which has given him confidence and helped him get into a rhythm and a groove.
Regarding his selection for the 2026 World Cup, Foden said he had not spoken to England manager Thomas Tuchel since being left out of the squad.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on his own game and hoped that he would be called up for the World Cup team in the future.
Foden also declined to comment on the Premier League's charges against Manchester City for breaching financial regulations, stating that he would rather focus on the game.
He noted that the transition from long-time City manager Pep Guardiola to new coach Enzo Maresca was easier for him, as he had worked under the Italian at youth level.
Maresca praised Foden's improvement and expressed his confidence in the midfielder's ability to make an impact this season, although he acknowledged that Foden is competing for a place with Rayan Cherki.
