Manchester United's manager, Michael Carrick, is facing a uncertain future at the club. Despite being appointed as an interim manager, his performance this season has raised concerns about his ability to lead the team.
However, the club may consider his position during the upcoming November international break. If Carrick is let go, Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are reportedly in the running to take over.
Before Carrick's initial appointment, the club was considering Erik ten Hag, the former manager of the team. However, a different option was considered at the time. According to reports, the club's director of football, Jason Wilcox, wanted Russell Martin to take the reins.
However, Martin's performance has been underwhelming, and his stock has dropped significantly. He has struggled at Southampton, Rangers, and Leicester City, which has made him a less appealing option for Manchester United.
